Cedar Front Door Refinishing (Riverview Gadens)
Project Description
Refinishing a worn out cedar front door. We stripped the door and made it look brand new.
Preparation & Painting Details
1. Protect surrounding areas w/ drop cloth, tape & plastic/paper
2. Aggressive sand w/ 80 grit to remove existing top coat & stain
3. Second pass w/ 120 grit to smoothen surfaces
4. Final pass w/ 180/220 grit to achieve smooth surface prior to staining
5. Water pop & light sand to reduce raised wood fibres
6. Second water pop to promto absorption of stain
7. Vaaccuum surfaces & wipe down w/ tack cloth
8. Apply clear coats w/ brush while cleaning & sanding inbetween coats w/ very fine grit
